National Call to Prayer is a vision, inspired by Christians in Government, to call God’s church across the UK to pray for the nation at this key moment of transition. The vision is that all Christians, regardless of their denomination, political views and location in the UK come together to pray for the Nation – asking for God’s will to be done and for Him, as the good shepherd to guide and comfort our nation.
Our picture, which we know is not unique to the National Call to Prayer, is of the UK as a Christmas tree lit up with lights all over it, the lights representing people’s prayers’ – be they two or three gathered or two or three hundred gathered. Another picture is of the King calling His tribes together – going to the heads of the tribes and asking them to mobilise their people to follow Him collectively.
We would like to have a National Day of Prayer on Thursday 28th March, the day before the UK officially leaves the EU and to have a week of prayer surrounding it. We are planning four flagship events, with one 7-8pm in Parliament Square, London, and similar events in Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast. We are also inviting people to host events wherever these are throughout the UK – with the vision of lighting up the UK as a Christmas tree with each event!
We are inviting people to host events in towns and villages across the UK on 28 March and to let us know at nationalcall2prayer.com/events-map, or firstname.lastname@example.org – so that we can light up the UK in prayer.
